GovCity 48 — The 48-Hour Disruptor Think Tank

Formerly just “GovCity,” GovCity 48 is our flagship program. Participants in our 48 program apply through our website, and upon acceptance, receive minimal details beyond when to arrive and expect to leave — obviously stretching to 48-hours of time together. During this program, participants are thrust into experiences that are custom-designed based on their class composition, the region, and the goals of the individuals who attend. Bring your most gnarly challenges and powerful opportunities to this one, your fellow 48’ers will help you tackle them while you’re together, and you’ll find out what many of our alums have come to appreciate most — they’ll also help you tackle them when you leave.

We host our GovCity 48 experiences in cities all over the nation at least twice a year and only accept 72 participants or less. Warning: We are famous for not distributing the attendee list or the agenda for this event in advance. Do not ask, we will not provide.

Ideal for: You’ve been accused of being a “disruptor,” as if it’s a bad thing. Most days you feel like you’re a “Lone wolf,” or you self-identify as a maverick of any organization in any industry, you might be a senior leader struggling to transform culture, or a government change agent, or you’re tired of bureaucracy holding up progress. You’re anyone wishing to shake things up or put themselves in an uncomfortable situation because why not.

GovCity Labs

GovCity Labs is our professional and experimentation unit. Beginning in 2020, our Labs will host our own, as well as custom-design unique experiences based on local, state and federal agency needs, career job roles, mission needs. From hackathons, to specific and role-targeted twists to our “GovCity 48” experiences, to writing workshops, tutorials on best practices and other creative approaches to everyday status quo issues.

As mentioned, GovCity will host our own Labs events beginning in 2020 — but we also custom design these experiences for our agency, corporate and public/private partnership customers. In many occasions, we will recruit our GovCity 48 Alums to join in the facilitation of these events, which brings your own organization into our culture of innovation. Every graduate of our GovCity programs is invited to participate in GovCity events going forward and receives an invitation to ongoing activities that ensure the learnings from these short events turns into a sustainable and valuable return on your investment.

Ideal for: Agencies, Bases and Organizations seeking to develop their own innovation and cultural ecosystem, professionals seeking to network and grow within their specialized roles and responsibilities (i.e. procurement, acquisition, legal/ethics, IT, information security, intelligence community etc.)

Deviant Dinner

Our Deviant Dinners are one of the most spirited, fun things we do here at GovCity. These are 25 people or less, special dinners designed to connect interesting people to an evening of interesting conversation and forever relationships.

We’re about to release tickets to our 2020 Dinner schedule. Sign up to let us know you want in when we do.
